Dr Sarah Goddard is a proud Kaytetye woman from the Barkly region of the Northern Territory. 

 

After receiving a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Newcastle in NSW, and completing her junior years at the Royal Darwin Hospital, Sarah now works as a doctor in her home town of Tennant Creek. 

 

Having obtained her fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine in 2021, Sarah is based at the Tennant Creek Hospital, Tennant Creek General Practice and also travels to remote communities & cattle stations in the region to deliver medical services.  

 

Sarah continues to up skill, and in 2022 was awarded Australian Indigenous Doctor of the Year for her dedication to improving health outcomes for her patients, many of whom suffer from chronic diseases. 

 

A valued member of the geographically vast Barkly community, Sarah was the 2023 Tennant Creek Australian of the Year; and was also named as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary E-Club of Outback Australia.
