ABOUT

Based on a simple truth, that women still represent an enormously under-utilised national resource, Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) is dedicated to developing female leaders and supporting the increased presence of women in business and community leadership roles.

We believe that supporting a greater percentage of women to step up into leadership across all vocations and industries will have tremendous cultural and economic benefits.

Operating in all states and territories, the WLA initiative comprises a range of high quality professional development courses, advisory services, networking channels, and on-going research. With over fifteen years of experience in leadership and gender equity, we are ideally positioned to respond to the needs of the contemporary female leader.

Women & Leadership Australia was originally founded in 2004.

Growing from very humble beginnings, WLA ran its first event for just sixty participants in the regional township of Wangaratta in the northeast of Victoria. Since then we have grown into one of Australia’s leading providers of professional development for women and have an increasing presence in New Zealand, Europe and USA.

In developing our suite of market leading educational programs, WLA has created experiences ‘for women’ but not necessarily ‘about women’.

The programs not only provide best of breed leadership development but immerse participants in an experience informed by the complexities and opportunities of being a female leader in Australia today. Through a deep understanding of the needs of female leaders at every stage of their journey, we provide rich and empowering learning environments, singularly geared to enabling each participant to achieve their own unique vision of success.

One of the major factors in our continued success has been an unwavering commitment to connecting women across all sectors and industries and providing a setting to develop powerful, lifelong friendships and alliances. Since our first event, over 60,000 women have participated globally, making WLA and its sister brands one of the largest gender-focused leadership initiatives in the world today.
