Experience

Janelle Horsington is the Principal of Growth Intentions, a niche coaching and consulting business that partners with individuals and teams to develop intentionality in how they ‘show up’ personally and professionally. She is a practicing school leader and classroom teacher in Canberra with almost two decades of experience across the public, independent and catholic education sectors. Janelle also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students in the University of Canberra’s Education Faculty, in the area of Modern Languages Education.

 

Janelle holds a Master of Education, has published action research in formative assessment, and regularly contributes her curriculum expertise as lead writer in secondments to organisations such as ACARA, the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies, and the Australian National University where she developed, delivered and promoted the H Course Extension program. She has also held leadership positions including Japanese Network Leader in the ACTand leads system moderation and policy review panels for ACT colleges.

 

Janelle presents regularly at national and local conferences, as a keynote presenter for the ACT Education Directorate’s 2021 All Colleges Professional Development Conference and has initiated and led numerous school cluster projects and longstanding professional learning communities. Janelle is an experienced mentor and coach and was selected to develop nationally profiled Leading 21st Century Schools Projects and mentor new educator cohorts in the National AFMLTA MoRE LEAPS Program. As a graduate of the WLA Schools Advanced Leadership Program, and the WLA Schools Executive Leadership Colloquium, Janelle’s focus is on empowering middle leaders.
