The 2024 National Award for Excellence in Women’s Leadership

Sam Mostyn

The 2024 National winner is Sam Mostyn AO, businesswoman and sustainability adviser, with a history of executive & governance roles across business, sport, climate change, the arts, policy and NFP sectors.

Ms Mostyn said of the award; “It is an honour and privilege to be receiving a national award from Women & Leadership Australia. In its 20 years history, so many women across the country have benefited from WLA’s enduring commitment to building, mentoring and celebrating women’s leadership. I follow in the footsteps, and pay tribute to, the inspiring women who have been previously honoured in this way and want to thank WLA for their generosity in presenting me with this award.”

Ms Taylor said the award acknowledged Ms Mostyn’s dedication to improving outcomes across various realms including gender inclusion, equity, mental health, sustainability, women’s sport, Indigenous issues, legal issues, and climate change.

“Last year, Sam chaired the Women’s Economic Taskforce, delivering recommendations to the Australian Government aimed at advancing women’s economic equality and gender equality” said Ms Taylor.

“Throughout these significant initiatives we’ve noted Ms Mostyn’s impact and we are honoured to present her with this award for her enduring commitment to driving positive nationwide change for over two decades.”
